On April 26, 2025, in the coastal city of Nha Trang, the Information Technology Institute – Vietnam National University, Hanoi organized a specialized training course entitled “Enhancing Management and Operational Efficiency with Artificial Intelligence (AI)” for nearly 200 city leaders.
Delivering the opening speech of the training course, Mr. Tran Manh Dung – Secretary of the Nha Trang City Party Committee – emphasized the importance of embracing and applying new technologies in the context of the ongoing digital transformation. “Digital transformation is an inevitable trend, and artificial intelligence is a vital tool to improve governance efficiency and better serve the people. Equipping the city’s leadership with knowledge of AI is a strategic move,” Mr. Dung stated.
The training course was designed with two main components, combining foundational theory and practical application. In the first part, participants were introduced to fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and the role of AI in digital transformation. Key topics included the development of Generative AI, security and ethical issues in AI usage, and safe approaches to integrating AI within organizations. This segment helped participants gain a comprehensive overview of AI and understand its strategic role in modern urban development.
In the second part, the course focused on effectively leveraging AI in management and administrative tasks. Participants were introduced to advanced chatbot models, methods to evaluate their effectiveness, and were guided through prompting techniques – a crucial skill for interacting with modern AI systems such as ChatGPT. In addition, learners engaged in hands-on exercises involving real-world scenarios, applying AI to tasks such as document processing, planning, and data analysis for improved governance.
The training yielded positive outcomes. Beyond providing theoretical knowledge, the program enabled participants to begin integrating AI tools into their daily work. Many attendees expressed excitement as they experienced new technologies for the first time and recognized the practical applications of AI in administrative document processing, responding to public inquiries, and supporting faster, more accurate decision-making.
This initiative marked a meaningful step in developing digital human resources and enhancing the leadership capabilities of city officials. It also demonstrated Nha Trang City’s strong commitment to pioneering modern technology adoption in pursuit of building a digital government, a smart city, and delivering better public services.
