On the morning of May 7, 2026, a delegation from Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), France, visited and worked with the Information Technology Institute of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ITI-VNU) to promote cooperation in training, scientific research, and technological development in strategic fields. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Tu, Director of the Institute, along with Dr. Bui Duy Hieu, Dr. Dao Manh Hiep, and other faculty members. During the session, both parties discussed directions for research and training development as nations increasingly invest in core and strategic technologies. The UGA representatives highly appreciated the research and training capabilities, as well as the development potential of ITI-VNU in fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor chip design, embedded systems, AIoT, and advanced digital technologies.

The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation across multiple areas, including joint doctoral training, exchange programs for students and faculty, and the establishment of joint research groups and international high-tech projects. Notably, both institutions aim to establish a Joint Research Center to concentrate resources on strategic sectors such as semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence, core technologies for aerospace, and next-generation intelligent systems. This partnership builds upon a history of positive results, including collaborative PhD training and academic exchanges. Currently, two engineering students from Grenoble INP – Phelma under UGA are conducting research internships at ITI-VNU, serving as a testament to the practical and effective cooperation between the two organizations.

Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Tu emphasized that ITI-VNU consistently prioritizes expanding international partnerships with prestigious global universities to enhance the quality of education and innovation. In the context of Vietnam’s push for strategic technologies like AI and the semiconductor industry, collaborating with strong partners like UGA is vital for developing high-quality human resources and national technological capacity.

The meeting concluded in a positive and open atmosphere, marking a new milestone in the relationship between ITI-VNU and Université Grenoble Alpes and opening up extensive opportunities for future collaboration in science and technology.
