On June 27, 2023, VNU Information Technology Institute organized a seminar on the topic “Application of AI in security monitoring problems.” The seminar was chaired by Dr. Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the Institute. The event was conducted online via the Zoom.us platform, with the participation of researchers and doctoral students from the Institute, as well as students and faculty from various universities and colleagues from different places.
The seminar consisted of two presentations, beginning with a report titled “Developing a method for classifying malware using superballs” by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, a staff member of the Information Security Laboratory, Faculty of Information Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The report covered three main topics: first, an overview of the current situation of malware and some existing methods for classifying malware; second, the method of classifying open-source malware using machine learning and superballs; third, the achieved results and a comparison of the proposed method with other methods. The discussion clarified the results obtained and provided suggestions for further development and improvement of this research.
The second report addressed the issue of “AI/Computer Vision Technology” presented by Mr. Bui Duc Hanh from HTSC, a subsidiary of the HTI Group. The report provided an overview of AI/Computer Vision technology, the applications of AI in modern society, as well as the AI projects currently being implemented by HTSC. Many researchers showed a keen interest in the methods used by HTSC to solve problems and shared insights on how to handle real-time video processing to increase speed and reduce computational complexity, which HTSC has successfully accomplished.
