On March 28, at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), a Hackathon for students from Southeast Asian countries (ASEAN) was held with the theme “Sustainable environmental development by systems electronic circuit”. This is the 4th time that the Intelligent Integrated Systems Research Group (SISLAB) – Hanoi National University has sent a representative to participate in the Southeast Asia Hackathon in collaboration with the IEEE CAS Association and universities, businesses in the organization.

SISLAB Vietnam team including Le Duc Vu and Dinh Quang Lam won awards at the SEACAS Hackathon 2022 organized by IEEE CAS.

With the design idea of ​​”Smart Trash Bin” allowing to identify and classify garbage, as well as map the available trash cans in the area, Le Duc Vu and his team excellently won the Most Innovative Idea award. (Most Innovative Prize). The product not only saves time and waste collection costs, but also helps the operator to arrange the most reasonable garbage bin locations based on habits and user density.
In addition, in order to cope with climate change and the risk of sea level rise of the ASEAN community as well as globally, Dinh Quang Lam and a group of students proposed the idea of ​​a smart garage allowing water level awareness. rise from which it is possible to raise and lower the car’s cabin. The design by Lam and his team won the Best Fighting Spirit Prize.
In addition to the prize, students are sponsored for all travel and hotel expenses to attend the competition. Student Le Duc Vu and student Dinh Quang Lam are students from the University of Technology, currently practicing and doing research at the Intelligent Integrated Systems Research Group (SISLAB), Institute of Information Technology. , Ha Noi national university.

IEEE SEACAS Hackathon is an annual science and technology competition organized by the Association of Electrical – Electronics Engineers – Information Technology (IEEE CAS) for students, trainees and PhD students from Eastern countries. South Asia. In 2022, IEEE SEACAS Hackathon was coordinated by IEEE CAS with Nanyang Technological University Singapore with groups of students from countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam… At the contest, the contestants had two days. to create ideas, develop and perfect products.
