Within the framework of the Project, on May 25, 2023, the first annual workshop was held at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) in a combination of in-person format (at the HNUE Urban Area in Hoa Lac) and online participation, with the attendance of many experts from the United Kingdom, United States, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Vice President of VNU, A/Prof. Pham Bao Son, attended the online workshop. The workshop was attended by Ms. Hoang Van Anh, Director of the Higher Education and Skills Program at the British Council; representatives of Coventry University (United Kingdom), Phenikaa University, University of Economics & Business Administration – Thai Nguyen University, as well as representatives from several academies and universities in Vietnam. On behalf of VNU, there were A/Prof. Tran Thi Thanh Tu – Director of the Investment Promotion Department, Deputy Chairman of the VNU Scientific Links (VSL), Project Team Leader; A/Prof. Dao Thanh Truong – Head of the Executive Committee of VSL, Deputy Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; A/Prof. Tran Xuan Tu – Director of the Information Technology Institute (VNU-ITI); A/Prof. Ha Le Kim Anh – Deputy Rector of the University of Languistic and International Studies; Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy – Director of the Institute for Quality Assurance in Education; and representatives of several affiliated units.
The project “Empowering women leadership in higher education towards digitalization and globalization ages” (EWL) is sponsored by the British Council and involves the participation of universities, including: Vietnam National University, Hanoi (hosted by VNU Information Technology Institute & VNU Scientific Links), Coventry University – UK (co-chaired) in collaboration with Phenikaa University, Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business. The project aims to enhance the capacity of female leaders in higher education institutions in Vietnam, thereby promoting the empowerment of female leaders in the current context of digitization and globalization. The project’s objectives are all geared towards implementing the digital transformation and innovation strategies of Vietnamese universities. The project was officially launched in January 2022 and has successfully organized a series of activities such as International Conferences, Dialogue Series, Training of Trainers (TOT), and E-learning modules on the LMS system of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). Within the framework of the project, the 1st Annual Conference will be held on May 25th, 2023 at VNU town in Hoa Lac, with the participation of many experts from the UK, US, Malaysia and Vietnam.
