– 12/02/2001: Institute of Information Technology was established in 2001 on the basis of rearrangement of universities, research institutes and units affiliated to Vietnam National University, Hanoi under Decision No. 14/2001 /QD-TTg dated 12/02/2001 of the Prime Minister.
– June 3, 1997: The Information Technology Training Institute (the predecessor unit of the Institute of Information Technology) was established according to Decision No. 262/TCCB dated June 3, 1997 of the Director of Hanoi National University. . The Institute of Information Technology Training was established to implement the ODA project “Japan-Vietnam technical cooperation in IT training in Vietnam”. This project was signed on March 21, 1997 between Japan’s JICA and Hanoi National University. It was implemented in the period from 1997 to 2002.
