On the morning of September 18, 2025, the Information Technology Institute, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) received a sponsored package of IoT Training and Testing Lab solutions from Keysight Technologies (USA) and ASIC Technologies – the official distributor of Keysight in Vietnam. The total sponsorship value amounts to 200,000 USD.
This is an important step forward and also the result of long-term cooperation between Keysight and the VNU Information Technology Institute, aimed at developing research, training, and application capabilities in the fields of the Internet of Things (IoT), electronics – telecommunications, and semiconductors. Through this effort, the partnership contributes to training high-quality human resources to serve the national digital transformation.
A modern sponsorship package supporting IoT and semiconductor training – research
According to the cooperation agreement, Keysight Technologies and ASIC Technologies sponsored the VNU Information Technology Institute with equipment from the IoT Training and Testing Lab solution, including: 07 IoT system learning kits; 07 Keysight 34465A 6½-digit digital multimeters; 07 Keysight DSOX1204G oscilloscopes (4 channels, 70 MHz, with waveform generator); 01 Keysight EDUX1052G oscilloscope (2 channels); 01 Keysight EDU34450A Smart Bench digital multimeter; 01 Keysight EDU36311A Smart Bench DC power supply; 01 Keysight EDU33212A Smart Bench 2-channel waveform generator; and Keysight SR101EDUA remote management and control software.
These devices are designed to be compact and easily interconnected, making them suitable for modern laboratories at training and research institutions. In particular, the Digital Learning Suite option (Keysight SR101EDUA) allows lecturers and students to access and control equipment remotely via a web platform, supporting measurement, report extraction, and online operation. This expands learning opportunities without being limited by physical lab space.
The implementation of this equipment package will support lecturers and students in research and training in IoT, embedded systems, electronics and telecommunications, and semiconductor circuits, while also meeting design and product testing needs in both academic and industrial environments.
Students who successfully complete the program with good results will be granted globally recognized certificates by Keysight, opening up job opportunities at leading technology corporations such as Qualcomm, Samsung, OPPO, Xiaomi, MediaTek, and NVIDIA, as well as major enterprises in Vietnam such as Viettel, VNPT, MobiFone, and VinFast.
Keysight affirms its strategic cooperation commitment with VNU
With over 80 years of experience in electronic measurement, Keysight not only provides modern equipment but also reaffirms its commitment to supplying the necessary resources to support research and training development in Vietnam. Mr. Vũ Đức Dũng, Deputy Director of ASIC Technologies, stated that the company will facilitate VNU and other universities in accessing measurement and testing technologies that meet international industrial standards.
Mr. Sangho Oh, Global Director of Education Solutions at Keysight, highly valued the position and quality of training and research at VNU. Keysight expects that the cooperation between the Information Technology Institute and Keysight will continue to expand, elevating from the Institute level to the Vietnam National University, Hanoi level. This will help build an advanced training and research environment, enabling students, trainees, and lecturers to access modern measurement and testing technologies and keep pace with global trends in IoT, electronics, telecommunications, and semiconductors.
He emphasized that, in order to participate more deeply in the global technology value chain, Vietnamese students need to be equipped with a solid foundation of knowledge in IoT, electronics, and telecommunications, along with practical skills and applied research capabilities, as well as proficiency in foreign languages, critical thinking, and teamwork in an international environment.
In addition to sponsoring equipment, Keysight also plans to organize specialized training courses, provide internship opportunities, and connect VNU students with the corporation’s global R&D centers, enabling them to access international standards and participate in pioneering technology projects.
Students’ excitement – motivation from practical experience
Speaking at the ceremony, VNU Vice President Phạm Bảo Sơn expressed deep gratitude to Keysight for its valuable support. He emphasized that the equipment sponsored by Keysight is an extremely important and necessary resource for the research, study, and practice of students, trainees, and lecturers. It also serves as a crucial tool to make VNU’s R&D activities more effective, enabling better discovery and application of research outcomes.
Vice President Pham Bao Son affirmed that this is a close collaboration in human resource training and the implementation of strategic technologies, contributing to fostering innovation and sustainable development in the digital era.
At the event, Prof. Tran Xuan Tu, Director of the Information Technology Institute, also emphasized the important role of university–industry collaboration in training high-quality human resources, particularly in strategic technology fields. He also expressed his hope that both sides will continue to expand cooperation in research and technology implementation in the future.
In particular, VNU students had the opportunity to experience the equipment firsthand and expressed their excitement. Vu Tuan Khanh, a third-year student majoring in Electronics and Telecommunications at the University of Engineering and Technology, shared: *“This is an oscilloscope for measuring waveforms, very modern and fully featured, supporting us in both study and practice. For students, directly working with advanced equipment is a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience, preparing us for the job market or in-depth research.”* These experiences provided additional motivation, fostering optimism and confidence among students in their journey of learning, creativity, and contribution in the field of high technology.
With this foundation, the cooperation with Keysight Technologies is expected to create breakthroughs in enhancing research and training capacity, opening opportunities for international collaboration, and contributing to the training of a new generation of engineers and young scientists who can meet the rigorous demands of the global labor market.

Founded in 2001, the Information Technology Institute of VNU has the mission of training high-quality experts, conducting scientific research, providing consultancy, and transferring technology in the fields of ICT and semiconductors, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
